Se efectuó el primer Miami Pop Festival…  con una audiencia aproximada de 100,000 personas… los conciertos fueron promovidos por Richard O’Barry y Michael Lang (más tarde, el promotor de Woodstock).El cartel incluyó la participación de: Steppenwolf, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, The Mothers of Invention, Blue Cheer, Chuck Berry, The Blues Image, Pacific Gas and Electric, Three Dog Night y Crazy World of Arthur Brown.
