El Grammy Awards (originalmente llamado Gramophone Award), o simplemente Grammy, es un premio presentado por la Recording Academy para reconocer los logros en la industria de la música. El trofeo representa un gramófono dorado.

Los Grammy son los primeros premios musicales más importantes de las tres grandes cadenas que se celebran anualmente (entre los American Music Awards en otoño y los Billboard Music Awards en verano). El Grammy se considera uno de los cuatro premios anuales de entretenimiento estadounidenses más importantes, junto con los Premios de la Academia (los «Oscar» por logros cinematográficos), los Premios Emmy (por logros televisivos) y los Premios Tony (por logros teatrales y de Broadway).

La ceremonia anual de premios presenta actuaciones de artistas destacados y la presentación de premios que muestran los logros de los artistas discográficos de la industria. La primera ceremonia de entrega de premios Grammy se llevó a cabo el 4 de mayo de 1959 para honrar los logros musicales de los artistas intérpretes o ejecutantes durante el año 1958. Después de la ceremonia de 2011, la Academia revisó muchas categorías de premios Grammy para 2012.

Los GRAMMY Awards 2021 premiaron las mejores grabaciones, composiciones y artistas en un periodo de elegibilidad comprendido: desde el 1 de septiembre de 2019 al 31 de agosto de 2020.

GRAMMY Awards 2021 – Polémicas

El cantante The Weeknd  no fue nominado en ninguna categoría principal por su tema “Blinding Lights” y por su álbum “After Hours”. Él publicó en su Twitter:

«Los Grammy siguen corruptos. Me debes a mí, a mis fans y a la industria la transparencia…».

Y también mencionó, que las 9 nominaciones de Beyoncé – según su perspectiva – no merecía ninguna, porque según él no se merece ninguna, y “Blinding Lights”???

Por su parte, Justin Bieber se quejó en su cuenta de Instagram, que los Grammys se equivocaron con él, en las nominaciones de su álbum «Changes». Según Bieber su álbum es R&B y no Pop. Por su parte, sus fans reconocieron que ese no fue el mejor álbum de Justin.
